Adding flights

Tap + on the Itinerary to scan a boarding pass's barcode, choose a screenshot or a photo of one, or type a flight in. From Apple Wallet, open a pass, tap its Share button and choose CardBoarding — old passes count, so years of flying can come in at once.

Why is the aircraft missing?

Finding which airplane flew a flight needs a flight-data service, and CardBoarding uses your own free keys rather than a shared one. Settings › Available Data lists what each source adds and where to get a key: FlightAware AeroAPI, AeroDataBox or the OpenSky Network. Live tracking from public ADS-B needs no key.

Following a flight live

On its day, a flight's card follows the airplane from the gate: pushback, takeoff, the route, landing and the taxi in. Turn on flight tracking and your phone's GPS fills in the gaps where the airplane's transponder is not heard.

Sharing a flight

Open a flight and choose Share Live Link… from its menu. Someone with CardBoarding who opens the link gets the flight on their Watching list; anyone else sees the flight at cardboard.ing with a link to the app. Links can also name a flight to look up: cardboard.ing/f/UA309.

Your data

Everything lives on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. Settings › Data › Delete All Flights clears it. See the privacy page for what the app sends where.
